We believe therapists deserve a workplace where they feel seen, heard, and valued, with flexibility, recognition of their strengths, and a strong sense of community. We also believe in having fun, building connection, and fostering genuine support within our team.

Role Type
Practicum Student / Counselling Intern
Ashay Therapy is a growing private practice based in Calgary, Alberta, providing culturally responsive and trauma-informed counselling to clients across Canada. Our work centres BIPOC and marginalized communities, with a focus on helping clients navigate stress, burnout, trauma, relationships, and life transitions in a way that honours their lived experiences.
Our mission is to create a supportive, inclusive, and professional environment—both for our clients and for the clinicians we train and work alongside.
We are seeking a motivated and committed Practicum Student / Counselling Intern based in Calgary who is eager to gain hands-on experience within a private practice setting. This role is ideal for a graduate-level counselling student who is ready to engage fully in the rhythm, responsibilities, and professional standards of working in a therapy practice.
The intern will provide virtual (and potentially in-person) counselling under supervision, participate in team meetings, and contribute to the overall clinical culture of the practice.
This role requires a minimum of 20 hours of weekly availability posted on the schedule (you won’t be working 20 hours a week), as this significantly increases the likelihood of client bookings and allows for meaningful clinical experience throughout the practicum period.
This is an unpaid practicum placement completed for academic credit.
