Who is Tolu?
Tolu Adepoju is a registered Canadian Certified Counsellor and the founder of Ashay Therapy. Born in Nigeria, Tolu moved to Canada at age 14 and is dedicated to serving BIPOC individuals. She helps clients manage and overcome mental health issues and emotional challenges through a culturally responsive and inclusive approach. Tolu holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, where she graduated with honors in 2023. She has extensive experience working with individuals and teens across Canada. Tolu is passionate about traveling, advocating for Black women’s mental health, and promoting self-care and personal development. When not working, she enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, creating content, or going for walks while listening to podcasts.

Tolu's Area of focus
Tolu specializes in helping BIPOC clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, racial identity, relationship issues/conflict, stress, self-esteem and burnout.
Husainat is a Registered Psychotherapist and a Canadian Certified Counsellor. She comes from a Nigerian & Canadian background. Over the years, she has been involved in activism and advocacy to break the stigma surrounding mental health, increase mental health awareness, improve education about mental health, and address the need for accessibility to mental health services for racialized communities and all communities. She has experience working as a peer support worker, providing support and crisis interventions in various settings and communities and delivering mental health workshops focused on mental health literacy and anti-oppression. In addition, she has clinical experience working with a wide range of clients with presenting issues. She also takes an individualized and integrative approach to supporting clients.
